Smart Kitty Cutting “Shorty” is a very loved addition to the ranch. Don’t tell the other broodmares, but she’s my favorite! We first found her when we were searching for a broodmare in early 2022. She was one of our top 3 picks, and after we made our decision, we couldn’t help but wish that we had bought her, too. So in early 2023, we made it happen! Shorty earned quite a bit of money as a sorting horse, after having her start in cutting training. She is a daughter of two time NCHA Super Stakes Res. Champion and all time top 100 NCHA leading sire, Kit Dual. Kit Dual has sired progeny earning over 4.5 million dollars! Shorty’s dam is a daughter of Peponitas Acre, NCHA earner of over $253,000.

Shorty has had a few foals, and we’re hoping she’ll be a producing dam very soon, with her two most recent foals being placed in show homes. We plan to cross her to a few stallions in the upcoming years, and hope to have some luck in the show pen on her offspring. Shorty lives up to her name, and is our smallest mare at 13.3 hands.
